Our Churches

During the social distancing period for the corona virus pandemic North Buckingham Parish is recording our Sunday and Special Services. Here are our services for Holy Week and Easter: Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, a Good Friday meditation and Easter Sunday. Our regular Sunday services are on a separate page.

Because there is a high demand for videos you may get the best results from selecting under Settings (the cogwheel at the bottom picture), Quality, 480p.

Our Easter service is here:

Our Good Friday meditation on the Crucifixion with pictures and music is based on the second movement of Gorecki's second symphony. The Latin words starting "Deo qui fecit coelo et terra" O God who made heaven and earth are by Copernicus and extol the beauty of the heavens, created by God, who died on the cross for our salvation.

As a longer alternative you might want to watch Kirk Haberman's Passion according to St Mark's Gospel. This covers the whole Passion story beginning with the Last Supper and is based around Charles Wood's St Mark Passion in which recitative gospel passages are interspersed with hymns sung by the choir of Jesus College, Cambridge.

Our Maundy Thursday service would normally be held at 7.30 pm in St. Edmund's church. The text of the service may be downloaded from our documents page.
